The world is undergoing rapid transformation, with HWKN at the forefront of exploring how artificial intelligence (A.I.) will shape the future in architecture. In recent months, the firm, deeply immersed in the AI domain, created its first series of architectural designs enhanced by AI technologies.
Our excitement lies in the following areas:
We are leveraging Chat GPT to generate design prompts for our Mid Journey hallucinations, continually refining the terminology to optimize this exploration process. (Chat GPT has proven exceptionally useful in converting Matthias’ ‘Genglish’ into coherent and polished English.)
Mid Journey has emerged as our preferred method for this design hallucination. To increase its productivity, we are formulating ‘super prompts’ that enable us to immediately become aware of a much wider range of possibilities. At the same time targeting searches that keep this process aligned to HWKN’s own vision of architecture and urbanism.
Stable Diffusion is another favorite: it offers greater control over output but with slightly less visual refinement in terms of render quality. With Stable Diffusion, we can refine designs beyond the hallucination phase, pushing the boundaries of our architectural creativity.
We are experimenting with other tools such as Hypar, Spacio, Parafin, Model UR, and 3dfy. We plan to provide detailed updates on which of these emerging AI applications prove to be the most valuable for a design-oriented architectural firm like ours.
Nonetheless, recognizing the considerable gaps that still exist in this arena, we are assembling a collective of visionaries, engineers, and brand-builders whose task it will be to develop an extraordinary AI tool that fosters participation and collaboration among all partners and stakeholders.
This innovative tool is poised to revolutionize how we plan, experience, and manage buildings and cities in the near future, ultimately transforming the architectural landscape as we know it.
