Modern Meets Classic

This gut-renovated 2,500sf apartment is the ultimate marital compromise. She likes rich, classical detail. He likes clean minimalism. To suit them both the design creates a rich combination of classical molding profiles on what has become known as the “molding wall”. This ornate exuberance is offset by the simplicity of the rest of the apartment. An open central space links the living and dining rooms together to create a rare floor-through view from north to south. White walls and dark floors make up the simple color palette, with pockets of wood paneling for displaying art, books, and photographs.
